Process

Idea Generation

We used Pinterest and Chat GPT to assist us with brainstorming ideas for this project. We landed on an idea generated using Chat GPT, a lightning simulator.

UI

As We were designing, a lot of inspiration came from Apple because of its focus on simplicity. I didn’t want our project to look too much like Apple’s so I made adjustments to our final design.

Landscapes

While I was designing the UI, Morgan was illustrating the landscapes that would be used as environments for our rainstorm. She also took the lead on our rain animation in After Effects and Rive.

State Machine

We worked together to make each interaction function and it we ended up with a very complex state machine. It was a great experience problem solving with a partner.

Takeaways

Teamwork makes the dream work.

This partner project allowed us to create more out of this project than if it were individual. There was an abundance of opportunities for problem-solving, critiquing, and dividing work together. This project was such a success because of our ability to work together seamlessly.

I <3 learning new things.

This project worked out my brain and made me think in new ways. Rive’s workflow is completely different from what I am used to and I feel very accomplished from being able to work through problems and create a project I am proud of and enjoyed doing.
